As the father of a talented arteest type, you can imagine my disappointment when Bungie decided to limit player emblems to their own selections. I could have had the most kick ass insignia…
Still, I have to admit, for having a limited selection to deal with, Bungie did allow for a pretty broad range of customization. It’s not too difficult to come up with something that’s reasonably unique, though with literally millions of people playing, after a while they’re all just variations on a theme. The guys over at HBO have put up a web-based emblem generator that let’s you either recreate your logo or make up an entirely new one, the utility being that now you can easily duplicate your clan logo for pasting in somewhere else on the web. And, uh, note to Bungie: if you left in the capability to add new emblems, say as a downloadable option in the future, it would be absolutely bitching if you were to allow user created submissions. Maybe you could have a contest.
