The wages of security are slavery.

To paraphrase a well-known biblical turn of phrase. Once upon a time, kids, it was perfectly legal to take pictures of things the average person could see walking around in public. You might not have been aware of this, but it’s absolutely legal to take pictures of people on the street and post them on the internets without consent—just don’t make any money doing it.

Well, the threat of terrorism has given the gubbernment and fascist-minded private citizens one more way to get in the way of your civil liberties as ever more stories appear around the country of peaceful private citizens being told they can’t snap pictures of public landmarks due to “security concerns.

This is your Constitution, people! Stand up for it! Because it’s only a short trip from “can’t take a picture of it due to security concerns” to “can’t talk about it due to security concerns.”
