LibriVox is a new podcast that aims to do something so obvious that I’m surprised it hasn’t been done before: volunteers read public domain works aloud and then release them as podcasts. Brilliant!
Personally I hate audiobooks. Never have liked them, though several people I respect like them just fine (yeah, looking at you Raven). I do, however, enjoy reading aloud very much. We don’t do it as often as I would like, due to family schedules, but it is a time-honored family tradition for TJ and Flip to sit and listen to yours truly read.
Looks like they’ve only got a couple of books online right now, but I could see where this could really take off as a project. Neat how a simple idea like RSS could spin off into so many other nifty things. We live in interesting times, friends.
